Josh Peek looks to return to the RAM National Circuit Finals Rodeo in Kissimmee
Josh Peek has made quite the name for himself here in Kissimmee, Florida at the RAM National Circuit Finals Rodeo! He is a five-time qualifier for the RNCFR, and he is the reigning three-time all-around champion.
He is looking to make a return visit to the RAM National Circuit Finals Rodeo next April. As he sets his sights high going for a fourth title, he realizes it’s going to take a lot of hard work to get him back to Kissimmee. “I haven’t done as well as I had hoped this year in the PRCA circuit standings. I am going to have to have a great circuit finals.” Josh will compete in the Mountain States Circuit Finals Rodeo taking place in just a couple weeks, October 27-29th.
Josh has rodeoed harder this year than he ever has before. “I have rodeoed more this year than I ever have. I attended over 100 rodeos trying to make the Wrangler National Finals this December. Winning the all-around at the RNCFR in April was a huge highlight. It helped me when trying to make the finals. Another highlight was winning the bull-dogging at the Prescott Rodeo. I’ve always tried to win that buckle. It’s one of the most prestigious buckles that most cowboys want to win. It was definitely a bucket list item for me. I love everything I have been able to achieve.”
So what will it take to get him back to Kissimmee? “I need a strong circuit finals to qualify. Winning the average would allow me to get back to Kissimmee. My goal is to win the average.”
Josh has just returned home from completing a full and busy rodeo season. He is enjoying spending some downtime with his family and kiddos. “My boy turned one year old in September, and I’ve only really had the chance to see him a total of 18 days out of this year due to traveling. I’ve got three kids, and it’s nice to be home right now spending time with them.”
In addition to Josh setting his goals on qualifying for the 2018 RNCFR, his kids sure hope he does too! “The coolest thing about the RNCFR in Kissimmee is that I not only get to compete at the rodeo, but I also get to bring my entire family and spend time outside of the rodeo with them. I can’t do that at most rodeos. My in-laws come, my parents come, and we make it a family thing. Last year, we took the kids to the beach for three days prior to the start of the rodeo. They loved it! We also go to Disney World and Wild Florida. The kids love the airboat rides. They asked me repeatedly if we could do that again. It’s a neat opportunity to do different things while spending time with my family.”
With the Mountain States Circuit Finals Rodeo coming up around the bend, we wish you the best of luck Josh! Fun fact: Did you know Josh is studying to become an insurance adjuster? Who knew!
