A steer is released into the arena followed by hazer, which is the one who tries to keep the steer going in a straight line. Once the steer gets to the end of his rope the wrestler is released to chase the steer down. The wrestler leans over while the horse is running to grab the steer by horns, and the wrestler is pulled off by the steer and plants his feet into the ground. Once his feet are planted he moves one hand down to the nose of the steer and then he pulls it off balance bringing it to the ground. Once the steer is on the ground an official waves a flag to mark the end of the time.
